Advocacy for rights and elimination of harmful practices through:

  • Awareness campaigns on ending beading, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and child marriage
  • Promote child protection dialogues with elders, parents, and morans
  • Training girls and women on their rights in friendly formats
  • Formation and capacity building of community child protection committees

2 / Education Access & Retention

Promoting education as a foundation for empowerment by:

  • Organising school enrollment drives and back-to-school campaigns
  • Introducing informal learning through shepherd and mobile classes
  • Adoption of up-to-date teaching and gender responsive methodologies
  • Providing essential learning materials
  • Working with the school board of management to address absenteeism and dropout rates
  • Establishing reading clubs and offering remedial literacy/numeracy support

3 / Life Skills & Mentorship

Building personal confidence and leadership skills through:

  • Establishing teens’ clubs on public speaking and debates in schools and villages
  • Using art, music, and storytelling to express themselves
  • Hosting annual forums or festivals to highlight talents and share stories
  • Establishing safe spaces for mentorship by trained mentors

4 / Health & Hygiene Education

Promoting holistic health and wellbeing for girls and women through:

  • Menstrual hygiene education and distribution of dignity kits
  • Improving access to Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) resources
  • Transforming social norms on SRHR
  • Increasing individual awareness of SRHR as human rights through campaigns
  • Personal hygiene, sanitation, and handwashing campaigns
  • Mental wellbeing through play therapy, group talks, and safe-space conversations to support
    mental health

Engaging communities to create inclusive and safe environments through:

  • Father-daughter dialogue days and engaging male champions
  • Hosting community dialogues
  • Training of teachers, chiefs, and elders on child safeguarding, protection, and gender
    sensitivity
  • Using storytelling and community theatre to challenge harmful practices
  • Partnership with churches, community forums and local radio for consistent messaging

6 / Climate Change and Environmental Awareness

Building sustainable and resilient communities for future generations through:

  • Introducing climate/environmental clubs in local schools

  • Promoting tree planting and rainwater harvesting in schools and homes
  • Training on drought-resilient farming and kitchen gardens
