About VOH CBO

VOICES OF HOPE COMMUNITY BASED ORGANISATION (VOH CBO) is a registered grassroots organisation based in Samburu County. Founded in 2025 by survivor and activist Florence Lerapayo. The organisation works to eliminate harmful traditional practices and promote gender equality through education, mentorship, advocacy, and community engagement.

The organisation is committed to girls’ leadership and mentorship. Our greatest need is support to deepen and expand our programs that build confidence, amplify voices, and unlock the leadership potential of girls in Samburu.

Many girls in our community grow up in environments where their dreams are silenced by harmful cultural practices, poverty, and limited access to role models. They often lack safe spaces where they can freely express themselves, gain life skills, and connect with mentors who believe in them.

Our mentorship and leadership programs are changing this—but the demand far exceeds our current capacity. We need resources to train more female mentors, establish additional safe spaces, and develop leadership pathways for adolescent girls and young women. We also need tools to track and measure the growth of the girls we mentor, to ensure that our impact is meaningful and lasting.

What these girls need is not charity—it’s an opportunity. They need consistent guidance, relatable role models, and platforms to lead in their schools, homes, and communities. With the right investment, we can cultivate a new generation of confident, courageous girls who are not only beneficiaries of change, but drivers of change.
